Toronto Book Award Finalists Featured at Canada’s Biggest Book & Magazine Festival
The Word On The Street is happy to host the finalists for the 2012 Toronto Book Awards at this year’s Festival!
Be among the first to hear all five finalists read from their nominated books at the Toronto Book Awards Tent. Each author will read twice from their work throughout Festival Day. The finalists are Dave Bidini, Andrew J. Borkowski, Farzana Doctor, Michele Landsberg, and Suzanne Robertson.
The Toronto Book Awards were established by Toronto City Council in 1974 to honour authors of books of literary or artistic merit that are evocative of Toronto. The winner will be announced on October 11, 2012.
This stage also features a special hour of programming by Diaspora Dialogues, hosted by Andrew J. Borkowski. Diaspora Dialogues supports the creation and presentation of new fiction, poetry and drama that reflect the complexity of the city through the eyes of its richly diverse writers. Publishing and mentoring activities, as well as a monthly multidisciplinary performance festival, help encourage the creation of a literature that is vibrant and inclusive, while bringing these works to a wide audience. Hear from authors Irfan Ali, Dorianne Emmerton and Terri Favro.
