New in 2012: The Word On The Street Launches New Venue to Celebrate Canada’s Non-Fiction Stars

Launching in 2012, the Nothing But The Truth Tent will showcase the amazing range of quality, literary non-fiction being produced in Canada. This is the first venue in the history of The Word On The Street dedicated solely to non-fiction books and writers!

The Word On The Street is happy to be hosting two past winners of The Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction : Tim Cook, winner for Shock Troops in 2009, will read from his fast-paced new book Warlords, and this year’s winner Andrew Westoll will be presenting his award-winning memoir The Chimps of Fauna Sanctuary: A Canadian Story of Resilience and Recovery.

Also, don’t miss Adrienne Clarkson, former Governor General of Canada, reading from her book Room for All of Us, and CBC radio host Nora Young, reading and presenting from her first book The Virtual Self.

Lastly, foodies will want to make their way to health reporter Megan Ogilvie’s presentation of her book Menu Confidential, a guide to navigating the Canadian dining scene to make healthy choices!  More featured authors include Ali Kazimi, Zander Sherman, Kamal Al-Solaylee, Andres McConnon, Barbara Arrowsmith-Young and Adria Vasil.
