Pub. News: This is what Canada Reads

The final five books for Canada Reads and their defenders were announced today at 10:30 by Jian Ghomeshi on his show ‘Q’ on CBC Radio One.

And they are… drum roll please…

1. The Best Laid Plans, Terry Fallis, defended by Ali Velshi

2. Unless, Carol Shields, defended by Lorne Cardinal

3. The Birth House, Ami McKay, defended by Debbie Travis

4. The Bone Cage, Angie Abdou, defended by Georges Laraque

5. Essex County, Jeff Lemire, defended by Sara Quin

Will you join in on the debates by reading all 5? Any particular book you were hoping to see on the list?

  1. I am surprised Yann Martel did not make the list, but I am still happy with the top five. I loved the Birth House and am looking forward to the new read from McKay!
