200+ People Know it: Volunteering with The Word On The Street Toronto is an Unforgettable Experience
Over 200 people have joined the 2012 volunteer team so far, but we still need more helping hands to make this year’s festival a success.
The Word On The Street volunteers are given the opportunity to:
- Develop practical skills
- Meet great Canadian authors and illustrators
- Find the best new reads, and
- Share in the enjoyment of Canadian books and magazines at one of Toronto’s signature events
Volunteers also receive a complimentary t-shirt, free lunch, great work experience, community service hours, invitations to exclusive pre-festival volunteer events, plus an introduction to a great group of people!
What will you be doing?
Volunteers are needed to help with pre-festival administrative tasks, festival set-up/take down, guest services, event management and logistics, programming support, exhibitor relations, and other tasks on Festival Day (Sunday, September 23, 2012), between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., working 4-hour shifts that fit around their schedule.
