Festival News: Happy to welcome The Penguin Pavilion to the 2012 Festival!

THE WORD ON THE STREET WELCOMES THE PENGUIN PAVILION

New in 2012, The Word On The Street is happy to welcome The Penguin Pavilion to this year’s Festival line-up!

Festival visitors will be able to see and hear from their favourite Penguin authors, including Stuart McLean, Chef Mark McEwan, Jacob Richler, and Neil Pasricha. Penguin will also be showcasing their women of YA (Young Adult Fiction): Mariko Tamaki, Lesley Livingston and Alyxandra Harvey. These blockbuster writers will be discussing their experiences in writing YA fiction and the importance of crafting strong, leading female characters.

Looking for some insider writing tips? Join Suzanne Desrochers, Sarita Mandanna, and D.J. McIntosh as they discuss what it takes to write and publish that first novel, with Penguin Canada Commissioning Editor Adrienne Kerr.

And that’s not all! Sports fans can join popular Maclean’s Senior Correspondent Jonathan Gatehouse and ESPN’s Gare Joyce as they face-off about hockey as we know it, and the future of Canada’s biggest sport.

Beth Lockley, Executive Director, Marketing & Publicity at Penguin says, “We have a huge line-up this year for The Penguin Pavilion, featuring twelve of our authors in unique, lively discussions. Our goal for The Penguin Pavilion is to offer engaging programming that showcases the wonderful talent we have on our Penguin Canada list, and offer visitors something fresh and entertaining.”
