Today we’re very excited to share the journal of Anne Michaels!
Anne Michaels’ books are published in over forty countries. She has won many international awards for her novels and poetry, including the Orange Prize, The Guardian Fiction Award, The Lannan Fiction Award and has been short listed twice for the Giller Prize. Her novel Fugitive Pieces was an international bestseller and remained on the national bestseller list for over three years before being made into a feature film. Her new book of poetry, Correspondences will be published in October 2013.
There is a garden in the suburb of Paris I have never seen. A square wooden table, wrought iron chairs, lilies bending in the rain.
In our bed you described that garden. Showed me a photograph. For some reason, I wept.
